The 49ers signaled on Tuesday that kicker Eddy Piñeiro is ready to return this Sunday when the Tennessee Titans come to town for their Week 15 showdown.

San Francisco made three roster moves, including releasing kicker Matt Gay, who stepped in when Piñeiro was sidelined with a hamstring injury that occurred in the 49ers’ Week 11 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Gay, who was released from the practice squad, was perfect through his two-game stint with the 49ers, successfully making four field goals and four PATs.

Before his injury, Piñeiro had been very accurate since signing with the 49ers just prior to Week 2 of the 2025 season. The kicker successfully made all 22 of his field goal attempts, including six from 50-plus yards.

Piñeiro has been a little less accurate in PAT attempts, missing four of his 22 tries, including two in the game when he sustained the injury.

The 49ers also released quarterback Adrian Martinez from the practice squad, a direct result of opening up the practice window of Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke on Monday.

Rourke played the entire 2024 season for the Hoosiers with a torn anterior cruciate ligament before undergoing reconstructive surgery in January of 2025.

The 49ers also signed wide receiver Javon Baker to the practice squad. The wideout attended Alabama and transferred to Central Florida, appearing in 46 games — 25 starts, registering 117 catches for 2,051 yards and 13 touchdowns.
