Week 15 of the 2025 National Football league season is upon us, and that means two things. First, it means that scoreboard watching season is here! Thanks to a five-game Houston Texans winning streak, every game matters again. This is far more fun than the team’s 0-3 start. Week 15 also means that we are on the verge of learning which Texans get selected for the Pro Bowl games!

That’s right, we no longer have the actual Pro Bowl football game. That’s died a few years ago. However, because guys have bonuses written into their contracts for being selected to the Pro Bowl, they have to do something if they are selected. Thus, the Pro Bowl Games, which is basically a flag football game wrapped inside a slew of backyard barbecue events that you’d find at a family reunion. Honestly, all we are missing is a potato sack race!

Fans are able to vote for their favorite players online, and the fan vote counts for one third of the results, with the other two thirds split evenly between the players’ ballot and the coaches’ ballot. In case you’re wondering which Houston Texans are on the ballot, the team was kind enough to share it in graphic form on social media:

As of this week, the Texans have six players among the top ten at their respective positions in fan voting, and it goes like this:

S Calen Bullock (2nd)

CB Derek Stingley Jr. (3rd)

DE Will Anderson Jr. (4th)

K Ka’imi Fairbairn (4th)

DE Danielle Hunter (5th)

P Tommy Townsend (6th)

Here are my predictions for the Houston Texans, with some brief comments on each one:

Will Anderson, Danielle Hunter, and Derek Stingley will all get selected again

The Houston Texans’ defense has been the toast for the league, ever since that Thursday night prime time win over the Bills, and the biggest name stars on the defense are Anderson, Hunter, and Stingley, all three of whom have been to the Pro Bowl before. Anderson and Hunter will get selected by how absurdly frequently they show up on film, menacing quarterbacks into mistakes. Stingley will get selected for how LITTLE he shows up in film, because quarterbacks just don’t attack his side of the field, because of his ball skills.

Calen Bullock’s performance against the Bills will vault him into the games

Speaking of that win over the Bills, if you recall, Bullock forced three turnovers in that game — two interceptions and a forced fumble. Bullock was already getting some acclaim within football circles, but when you have a transcendent performance on national TV, that accelerates things. Bullock is making the Pro Bowl games.

If I had to pick one player not listed above to get selected, it’s Jalen Pitre

Speaking of doing things on national television, I would say that, in football circles, when you leave a man for dead due to blunt force trauma (especially when said man is noted hit-and-run drive Rashee Rice), it helps your chances. Salute, Jalen Pitre!

Rashee Rice finally understand what it feels like to get unexpectedly hit at a high rate of speed and have the man responsible leave the scene

It’s probably not C.J. Stroud’s year

Stroud was selected for the Pro Bowl after his sensational rookie season in 2023. Last season, he was offered a spot as an alternate and declined. I’d say there’s almost no chance of Stroud being one of the three AFC quarterbacks selected this season, with Josh Allen and Drake Maye both being locks, and with Patrick Mahomes a perennial selection, as well.
