It appears the Seattle Seahawks now have two fullbacks on their roster.
2025 Seattle Seahawks Draft Breakdown: A look at all 11 picks
The Seahawks selected Alabama tight end Robbie Ouzts (last name pronounced oots) with the No. 175 overall pick in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, but listed him as a fullback. That seems to indicate they plan on converting Ouzts into a fullback for new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, who stated in February that he plans to use a fullback in his offense.
Seahawks.com senior reporter John Boyle also wrote earlier this week that key special teams player Brady Russell is moving from tight end to fullback. Russell, entering his third season with Seattle, is now listed as a fullback on the team’s roster.
The 6-foot-3, 274-pound Ouzts was a blocking tight end at Alabama, where he made 16 starts and appeared in 51 games over four seasons. He finished his college career with 192 receiving yards and three touchdown catches, including eight receptions for 108 yards and two TDs this past year.

Ouzts was the second Alabama player drafted by the Seahawks, who took Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe in the third round at No. 92.
Here’s what NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote about Ouzts in his scouting report:
Ouzts is built like an ironworker who has a squat rack in the garage. He’s compact and muscular but surprisingly athletic in routes and on move blocks. He can align as a wing and fits up blocks with good technique and balance, but he gets discarded by longer opponents. As a lead blocker he sees the run lane like a running back and adjusts well to strike moving targets. He can run routes if needed and should play on kick return, punt cover and field goal teams. A move to fullback will give him a chance to compete for a roster spot.
Ouzts was the third of three fifth-round picks for the Seahawks. They drafted Notre Dame defensive tackle Rylie Mills at No. 142 and Colorado State wide receiver Tory Horton at No. 166.
