The New York Giants (2-11) will host the Washington Commanders (3-10) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday afternoon in a Week 15 battle.

That, of course, provides those of us here at Giants Wire the opportunity to hypothetically steal from the Commanders’ roster in search of depth and/or talent upgrades for Big Blue.

The Commanders appeared to have an abundance of talent just a season ago, but have fallen off this year. Their talent pool feels significantly smaller, and some of their stars (i.e, Zach Ertz) are on injured reserve (IR) and eliminated from this exercise.

Consideration was given to quarterback Jayden Daniels, wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel, guard Sam Cosmi, safety Jeremy Reaves, defensive tackle Daron Payne, and several others.

Ultimately, we settled on the somewhat controversial Bobby Wagner, a veteran linebacker who is still playing at a Pro Bowl level despite nearing the age of 36.

The issue with selecting Wagner is that he’s a short-term solution for the Giants. He would provide a quality player alongside Bobby Okereke, but would ultimately lose his job to Micah McFadden in 2026 — assuming he doesn’t retire.

Still, Wagner is third in the NFL with 131 total tackles, trailing only Devin White and Jordyn Brooks. He has also recorded six QB hits, 3.0 sacks, three passes defensed, and two interceptions. And beyond the numbers, Pro Football Focus has given Wagner an 89.7 run defense grade, 90.8 tackling grade, and an 88.8 pass rush grade.

Every single one of those grades would top the Giants’ defense and strengthen problem areas.

What do you say, Giants fans? Would you steal Bobby Wagner from the Commanders, or would you go in an entirely different direction?
