In reality, it might have been just two NFC West teams that played in Week 14. The San Francisco 49ers were on a legitimate bye, while the Arizona Cardinals never had a real path to victory against the Los Angeles Rams. The bright side for the Cardinals is that their loss wasn’t as one-sided as the defeat the Atlanta Falcons suffered at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Have no fear, as we have you covered with some Week 14 NFC West takeaways.

Double Trouble in the Backfield

If the Los Angeles Rams are going to add a 249 rushing yard performance to their offense, then they truly might be unstoppable. The Rams are playing the long game with Kyren Williams to keep him fresh for the postseason, but he still rushed for 84 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown. What put things over the edge was Blake Corum truly settling into things. Not only did he need just 12 carries to gain 128 yards, a staggering 10.7 yards per carry, but he also gained two touchdowns.

Nacua Goes Nuts

While it seemed like Davante Adams was catching two touchdowns per game on a weekly basis, Puka Nacua was still one of the top receivers in the league. Nacua made that point very clear in Week 14. He was targeted 11 times and turned that into seven catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns. In fact, it was his best game of the season.

Arizona CardinalsNov 23, 2025; Glendale, Ariz., U.S.; Arizona Cardinals receiver Michael Wilson lays out for a catch, coming up short against the Jacksonville Jaguars at State Farm Stadium on Nov. 23, 2025.

Wilson is That Guy

Hardly ever are you going to see a quantity like this, especially not on a consistent basis. I understand that the Arizona Cardinals can’t establish a run game, were trailing, and Marvin Harrison was injured, but still, what Michael Wilson did was quite impressive. This week, that meant 11 catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns.

The Defense Was Brutal

The Cardinals allowed the Rams offense to get out to an early lead. And once that happened, it was all about clock management and game control. Everyone knew that the Rams were going to run the ball, but the ease with which they did it was simply insane. Allowing 249 rushing yards is simply inexcusable.

Seattle SeahawksSeattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (11) rushes for yards during the second quarter of an NFL football matchup, Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The Seahawks defeated the Jaguars 20-12.

He’s Back

As if there was really any concern with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, that has been erased. The phenom continued what’s been an almost historical season on Sunday. In what was a blowout victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Smith-Njigba caught seven passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns from Sam Darnold. You could even make an argument that it wasn’t even one of his better games of the season.

Shaheed Was on the Loose

When the Seattle Seahawks acquired Rashid Shaheed, it was with an eye on the postseason. His speed and explosiveness add another dimension to Seattle’s offense, and it was on display in Week 14. Shaheed caught four passes for 67 yards with a long of 33. What really made an impact, though, was his 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Purdy Will Need to Pick It Up

Injuries made for an uneven start to the season for Brock Purdy. The problem is that he’s still seemingly working back into shape, and his performance reflects that. Following San Francisco’s bye week, the thought process is that Purdy will work through the kinks. Ultimately, he’s going to have to.

The Defense is Putting Work In

Entering the season, Nick Bosa and Fred Warner were expected to be the key pieces of San Francisco’s defense. Instead, the injuries ended their seasons, and the 49ers were left to pick up the pieces. All things considered, the season is going well for the 49ers defense as they rank eighth with just 20.7 points allowed this season.
