Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Minnesota Vikings right tackle Brian O’Neill has been named one of eight finalists for the 2025 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
The award, named after the late Pittsburgh Steelers founder, celebrates players who best demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship on the field.
The recognition marks a significant honor for O’Neill, who has spent his entire professional career with the Vikings since being drafted in 2018.
O’Neill faces stiff competition for the honor, including former Vikings teammate Harrison Phillips, who now plays for the Steelers.
The winner is selected through a combination of votes from current NFL players and the eight finalists. Each team nominates one player for the award at the end of the regular season.
The winner will be revealed during NFL Honors, the league’s annual awards ceremony held the night before the Super Bowl.
