Browns still evaluating Corley after concussion

The Cleveland Browns continue to evaluate the recovery of former Western Kentucky standout wide receiver Malachi Corley, who left Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a concussion.
Corley, a second-year pro, was injured on a jet sweep run after being tackled by the Titans’ Amani Hooker. The play, good for two yards in the second quarter, was Corley’s lone carry in Cleveland’s 31-29 home loss to Tennessee.
The Browns placed Corley, a Campbellsville High School graduate who played four seasons at WKU (2020-23), into concussion protocol with plans to evaluate him this week. Corley was listed as a second-string wide receiver, but injured, on the team’s unofficial depth chart released Tuesday ahead of a Nov. 14 road game against the Chicago Bears.
Corley has found a productive role in his first season with the Browns after signing with the franchise as a practice-squad player following his release by the New York Jets in the final training camp roster cutdown. In nine games (four starts) with the Browns since being elevated from the practice squad before a Week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, Corley has tallied five catches for 34 yards and seven carries for 79 yards (11.3 yards per carry) with a long run of 31 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 8.
Corley as also seen time on Cleveland’s special teams unit on the kickoff return unit with 15 returns for 340 yards (22.7 yards per return).
A third-round pick (65th overall) by the Jets in 2024 NFL Draft, Corley played in nine games as a rookie and tallied three catches for 16 yards and two rushes for 26 yards.
