The Buffalo Bills used a dominant second half to beat the Cincinnati Bengals at home at Highmark Stadium in Week 14 in a 39-34 final.

The Bills (9-4) got off to rocky start, even on their own turf. The Bengals rolled to a 14-3 lead early plus a 21-11 halftime edge. From there, Buffalo kept fighting both on offense and defense to take the win over Cincinnati.

Here are three things we learned about the Bills from the win:

After that slow start, the game hit a certain point where it just felt like quarterback Josh Allen was not going to let the Bills lose. His touchdown pass to Khalil Shakir on fourth down really proved that.

Overall, Allen had four total touchdowns.

The Bills defense will get credit, and rightfully so, for the huge plays made against the Bengals. Without the pick six by Christian Benford and ensuing interception by AJ Epenesa, it’s unlikely that Buffalo wins this game.

But it’s worth noting that, without those, it would’ve looked like Cincinnati’s offense and quarterback Joe Burrow torched them. He had four passing touchdowns.

The Bills will probably want to learn to not live life on the edge like this.

After several weeks of alternating wins and losses… the Bills showed that winning back-to-back games is still possible for them. Getting to three will be difficult against the New England Patriots (11-2).
