Shedeur Sanders lit up social media over the weekend, and not just for the NFL rookie quarterback’s impressive performance on the field.
Sure, the starter for the Cleveland Browns had a breakout game by throwing for 364 yards and three touchdowns in a narrow home loss to the Tennessee Titans.
But there was also the matter of what those on the internet thought they saw Sanders wearing under his uniform, based on a viral photo that made the rounds on sites such as X and TikTok.
“Was Shedeur Sanders wearing a … nvm” one post on X said. The photo in the post left some thinking Sanders was wearing a skimpy undergarment — a thong.
Sanders cleared everything up in a YouTube video that his brother, Shilo Sanders, posted.
“Let’s cut to the business, bro: Did you wear a thong or not?” Shilo Sanders asks on the video.
“Come on, bro,” Shedeur Sanders answers.
“What’s going on with you bro?”
“You forgot I got a back injury, right?” Shedeur Sanders says. “So I get my back taped. But that is crazy that it did look like that. That’s funny, though.”
That was medical tape on Sanders’ lower back, and not a thong. But nice try, internet.
