NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans are looking to win consecutive games for the first time since November 2022 when they head to Levi Stadium to face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
The Titans defeated the Cleveland Browns 31-29 last week, scoring a season-high in points and earning their first victory since Week 5. The win ended a seven-game losing streak.
Despite the victory, everyone in the building acknowledged the team’s history of inconsistency this season. The Titans have struggled to maintain momentum, often following positive performances with setbacks.
The players are in desperation mode for a win, and the need for consistency.
“We are at a point right now, and I said it last week, we’re kind of desperate to win football games around here,” said Jeffery Simmons. “So hopefully that mindset of let’s stack another win, get another one, this weekend. I hope that’s like a motivation for guys.”
Cam Ward echoed the sentiment about building momentum.
“You know, our goal this week is to win a game. You know, try to get on a little win streak,” Ward said. “The more we win, I think the more steps we will take forward.”
Cedric Gray said the team feels confident coming off the victory but understands the challenge ahead.
“You know, I think coming off a win, everybody’s feeling pretty confident,” Gray said. “I think we understand the challenge that we have ahead of us and what it takes.”
The 49ers enter the game having won three straight before their bye week last week. Tennessee will need to slow down Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco offense to secure back-to-back wins.
