CeeDee Lamb was back at practice in limited fashion while cornerback Trevon Diggs apparently still has hurdles to clear for his HC.

The Dallas Cowboys returned to the practice field for the first time since their Thursday Night loss to Detroit. The mini-bye week was supposed to cure most of the teams bumps and bruises but a few injuries continue to linger for this team.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs was among the walking wounded and although he is apparently healthy enough to play, there’s a huge question about whether he’ll play this week, or any week remaining in the season. Left tackle Tyler Guyton and safety Malik Hooker missed practice, but wideout CeeDee Lamb (concussion) was among several players who hit the field despite injury concerns.

Minnesota, the Cowboys’ upcoming opponent, is managing injures of their own as two major players on offense missed practice and 12 others participated in limited fashion mainly for rest. One of those limited players is receiver Jordan Addison who continues to manage the achilles he ruptured that ended his season last year. The Vikings also added linebacker Josh Ross to their roster to help with the final stretch of the season.

Phillip Rivers, 44, suited up for Indianapolis to try and help their fading playoff chances, and seems poised to see his first game action in five seasons. In other league news, the NFL has shortened the time allotment for teams to make their first-round draft picks, hopefully getting folks to bed at a reasonable hour. The league has also backed a new flag football venture. Here’s a look at the top news from the Cowboys, Vikings and the NFL as a whole.
