Going into Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season, how good are the Houston Texans? On a five-game winning streak with an 8-5 record, not every team is built the same because of scheduling and injuries, but the Texans seem to be built to win.
Heading into Sunday’s battle against the Arizona Cardinals, the Texans enter with a 3.4 ranking on the Football Power Index (FPI) rating from ESPN. which is good enough for 9th overall in the NFL.
The Cardinals, fresh off a loss against the Los Angeles Rams and a 3-10 record, are looking to end their five-game losing streak while also trying to salvage the season. They enter Sunday’s contest with a  -3.8 ranking on the Football Power Index (FPI), which is good enough for 24th overall in the NFL.
Even with a loss on the road, the Texans are very much still in the playoff running and are the potential favorite to come back and win the AFC South. With a win, Houston still would need a loss from the Jacksonville Jaguars to tie them in the division standings entering its Week 16 matchup against
FPI is “a measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season,” according to ESPN.com.
The Texans will end a two-game road trip before coming home against the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders. If Houston plans on getting back into the playoff picture, it needs to be in every game for the remainder of the regular season, knowing a loss could be the reason setbacks occur after back-to-back 10-win campaigns.
Here’s a look at how the league’s 32 teams stack up based on FPI going into Sunday’s showdown.
