After Los Angeles won a 22-19 OT thriller over the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 8, here’s who Chargers fans should be rooting for in this week’s NFL slate.

The Chargers (9-4) will venture to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for a potential elimination game for the Kansas City Chiefs (6-7), who need to win out and get help from other teams to claw their way into the NFL playoffs. On the other end, the LA can ill-afford a loss while clinging to the AFC’s No. 5 seed via a tiebreaker over Buffalo and holding a slim one-game lead over Houston.

The matchups listed below obviously omit the Chargers-Chiefs game, since we’re all rooting for Los Angeles.

As a refresher, here are the current NFL Playoffs matchups entering Week 15:

AFC:Wildcard Round:NFC:Wildcard Round:

Now onto the individual matchups for Week 15:

Thursday, Dec. 11:Atlanta Falcons (4-9) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-6)

This is an all-NFC matchup that has no impact on the Chargers.

Preferred Winner: Toss-up

Sunday, Dec. 14:Buffalo Bills (9-4) at New England Patriots (11-2)

Given that Buffalo and Los Angeles are both tied record-wise, Bolts fans will be rooting for a Patriots win to possibly push the Bills a game behind them.

Preferred winner: Patriots

With Baltimore and Pittsburgh battling for the lead in the AFC East and the No. 4 seed in the AFC playoff picture, this matchup will be another interesting choice for Chargers fans.

If the Chargers wind up with the No. 5 seed, would you rather play Pittsburgh or Baltimore?

If you would rather see Pittsburgh, then root for the Bengals. Obviously, root for Baltimore if you want to see the Ravens.

Preferred Winner: Toss-up (depends on your preference)

New York Jets (3-10) at Jacksonville Jaguars (9-4)

While it would be hilarious if the Jaguars were to lose to the Jets, that is not likely to happen.

Preferred winner: Jets (for the laughs)

Chargers fans will be avidly rooting for Arizona to pull off an upset here, as a Texans’ loss would significantly ease the tension in the AFC playoff race.

Preferred winner: Cardinals (PLEASE!)

Cleveland Browns (3-10) at Chicago Bears (9-4)

This is an all-NFC matchup that has no impact on the Chargers.

Preferred winner: Toss-up.

Washington Commanders (3-10) at New York Giants (2-11)

This is an all-NFC matchup that has no impact on the Chargers.

It is also a glorious Tank Bowl!

Both teams are atrocious, but one has to end up with the better draft position.

Preferred winner: Toss-up

Las Vegas Raiders (2-11) at Philadelphia Eagles (8-5)

While the Raiders are a division foe, the outcome of this game has zero impact on the Chargers.

Preferred winner: Toss-up (If you’re a Sicko Committee member, a Raiders win would be hilarious)

Indianapolis Colts (8-5) at Seattle Seahawks (10-3)

This is an intriguing matchup for Chargers fans as the result of the Cardinals-Texans could dictate their rooting interest.

Hypothetically, a Colts win with a Texans loss would move Indianapolis into the No. 7 seed over Houston and possibly a game within LA.

However, a Colts loss would keep the current seating intact for another week.

Preferred winner: Toss-up (dependent on Cardinal-Texans winner)

Green Bay Packers (9-4-1) at Denver Broncos (11-2)

There is a clear outcome Chargers fans want from this matchup: a Broncos loss.

If the Broncos lose and the Chargers win, the Bolts would be within a single game of the AFC West division lead.

Preferred winner: Packers (PLEASE!)

Tennessee Titans (2-11) at San Francisco 49ers (9-4)

While the Titans are an AFC foe, Tennessee is one of the league’s worst teams, and the outcome of this game has no impact on the Chargers.

Preferred winner: Toss-up

Carolina Panthers (7-6) at New Orleans Saints (3-10)

NFC matchup with no impact on the Chargers.

Preferred winner: Toss-up

Detroit Lions (8-5) at Los Angeles Rams (10-3)

NFC matchup with no impact on the Chargers.

If you have LA pride, then feel free to root for the Rams.

Preferred winner: Rams

Minnesota Vikings (5-8) at Dallas Cowboys (6-6-1)

NFC matchup with no impact on the Chargers.

Preferred winner: Toss-up

Monday, Dec. 15Miami Dolphins (6-7) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6)

Who Chargers fans should be rooting for in this matchup should coincide with who they picked in the Ravens-Bengals clash.

If you would rather see Pittsburgh, then root for the Steelers. Otherwise, root for Miami if you want to see the Ravens.

After listing all the matchups, it is now up to you to decide who to root for on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday while the Chargers look to conquer their final four games of the 2025-26 regular season.
