GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Just when you thought the Green Bay Packers’ schedule couldn’t get any tougher after facing three straight NFC North opponents, next up are the Denver Broncos, the AFC’s current top dog.

Denver, at 11-2, ranks fourth in scoring defense and is on a 10-game winning streak. Even if it’s not a divisional matchup, it sure will feel like one Sunday.

“What a great challenge,” head coach Matt LaFleur said. “You know, what a great challenge. But also, I think there’s a lot of, there’s great opportunity that goes with that.”

“Just want to go out there and play to the best of your ability and just prove it against the best in the league,” defensive lineman Warren Brinson said. “It’s different levels in the league of who we’re playing. Like, we play a team that’s lost a lot of games. We’re playing a team that’s won a lot of games. One of the best teams in the league, one of the best records in the AFC. So it’s like, man, what an opportunity to go take on this challenge.”

“It’s going to be a playoff atmosphere,” wide receiver Christian Watson said. “Obviously, a playoff caliber defense. So that’s the type of games we’re going to get down here in the stretch. So, it’s definitely going to be exciting to watch.”

Each game this time of year has more meaning, and rightfully so, with a push for the postseason. But add the altitude and the atmosphere of December football, and every game from here on out is a must win.

“It’s really important, as we know the end of the season turns into more and more of a playoff atmosphere, more important. So, it’s good that we’re going to up-gain these good teams,” tight end Luke Musgrave said.

“Every game is important, and we’re starting here with the Broncos and have our full focus on them and trying to go win this game on Sunday,” quarterback Jordan Love said. “But it’s gonna be a good test, like I said, because they’re obviously a really good team. Number one in the AFC, so it’ll be a good matchup.”

Sunday’s game marks the first of three road games in the final four weeks of the season for the Packers. On the road, they are 4-1-1, but they haven’t won in Denver since 2007 — meaning they’ll have to bring their best brand of football to change that narrative.
