Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ four-touchdown game against the Titans earned him his first NFL Rookie of the Week honor.

CLEVELAND — Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been named NFL Rookie of the Week following his four-touchdown performance against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14.

This is Sanders’ first Rookie of the Week honor this season. The winners are selected via a fan poll, and he was one of six nominees along with teammate and tight end Harold Fannin Jr.

In just his third start as a pro, Sanders delivered his best performance so far, throwing for 364 yards and three TDs while also rushing for 29 yards and a score. Unfortunately, Cleveland lost to Tennessee 31-29 to fall to 3-10 on the year.

Following the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski named Sanders the starting QB for the remainder of the season. Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Sanders stressed that he’s trying to stay in the moment.

“My focus right now is the team we’re playing ahead: the Bears,” Sanders said. “Anything past that, I’m not really focused on, honestly. I’m thankful for it, but I’m not content with my situation with everything.”

Sanders is the third Browns quarterback to earn Rookie of the Week recognition, joining Charlie Frye in 2005 (three times) and Baker Mayfield in 2018 (seven times). Linebacker Carson Schwesinger also took home the honors back in Week 11 of this season.
