Does Cam Ward have the pieces of a successful rookie quarterback?
Former NFL quarterback Jordan Palmer has 3 things he looks for in rookie quarterbacks, and 1st overall draft pick Cam Ward has what he’s looking for.
Sports Seriously
The 2024 season didn’t feature a storybook ending for the Tennessee Titans. They finished tied for the worst record in the league, 3-14, and secured the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It’s that final detail that has Titans fans dreaming big though.
Tennessee will look to begin writing a new chapter, one that they hope brings success to Nashville and fills up the seats in a new stadium set to open in a few years. That pressure sits squarely on the shoulders of Cam Ward, who has been somewhat of a forgotten man before, during and after the draft.
He doesn’t come with any drama or fanfare, but is instead someone that’s just strictly business.
Thousands of musical artists go to Nashville every year with the hopes of making it big. The latest and greatest country music stars fill up those honky tonks, bringing Broadway to life.
Now it’s Ward that hopes to hit the right notes on the football field and turn the Titans into a winner. Here’s a look at the schedule for Ward’s rookie story with the Titans in 2025.

The Titans will have plenty of growing pains when Ward takes the field this season, but that’s just part of the journey for a rookie quarterback.
They attempted to fix to their offense this offseason, adding receivers and offensive lineman to help their young signal caller.
It’s important to not set expectations too high, however.
Tennessee is still firmly in rebuild mode, especially on defense. Jeffery Simmons can’t do it all and there are questions at all three levels.
Brian Callahan will look for his offense to pick up the slack, which would get a big boost if Ward is as advertised. That’s a lot to put on a rookie quarterback though.
The Titans do benefit from an easier schedule and an AFC South that isn’t filled with great teams. That doesn’t mean they are making the leap to division champions, but they could steal some wins along the way if things break right.
After a 3-14 season last year, the hope is that Ward can begin the turnaround as Tennessee eyes a return to the playoffs. With the holes all over the roster, it’s hard to envision a major improvement in the record for 2025.
