The Eagles held their first practice of the week on Thursday as they prepare to host the Raiders and Lane Johnson (foot), Jalen Carter (shoulders) and Landon Dickerson (calf) were not present.

Both Johnson and Carter were listed as non-participants to begin the week and Dickerson was listed as limited as the Eagles held a Wednesday walkthrough on a short week. Backup swing tackle Fred Johnson popped up on the report as a limited participant, which usually indicates that an injury happened during practice.

Did not participate: DT Jalen Carter (shoulders), G Landon Dickerson (calf/rest), T Lane Johnson (foot)

Limited: T Fred Johnson (ankle)

Full: LB Zack Baun (hand), LS Charley Hughlett (abdomen), T Cameron Williams (shoulder)

There was some hope that Lane Johnson would be able to return for this game after the Eagles didn’t place him on IR but it’s looking like he won’t be out there against the Raiders on Sunday.

Johnson, 35, suffered a Lisfranc sprain against the Lions on Nov. 16 and has already missed three games. He would have had to miss a minimum of four games had the Eagles put him on IR so there was some optimism he could be back for this game. But now it seems like next week against the Commanders is more realistic.

That means that veteran Fred Johnson is likely going to make his fourth consecutive start if he’s healthy enough to go. On Sunday, he’ll be tasked with trying to slow down superstar rusher Maxx Crosby, who plays about 87% of his snaps on the left side of the defensive line.

Fred Johnson lined up at right tackle on Thursday in place of Lane Johnson and Brett Toth was at left guard in place of Dickerson.

Carter, 24, had a procedure on his shoulders last week and missed the Chargers game. He’s in line to miss his second straight game. Without Carter, the Eagles’ defensive line had a great day pressuring Justin Herbert on over 68% of his dropbacks in LA.

The only limited participant to start the week was LG Landon Dickerson (calf). Dickerson missed some snaps with that injury against the Chargers but was able to return in the second half. It’s worth noting that Dickerson did get a rest day last Friday.

Both of the full participants to start the week — LB Zack Baun (hand) and LS Charley Hughlett (abdomen) — were practicing again on Thursday.

The Eagles on Thursday opened the 21-day practice window for sixth-round offensive tackle Cameron Williams, who has been on IR since early in the season. The Eagles previously opened practice windows for fellow rookies Willie Lampkin and Myles Hinton but then shut them both down for the season when their windows expired.

The Eagles will have one more practice on Friday afternoon ahead of Sunday’s game against the Raiders at the Linc.
