Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon will want to forget about the psychological damage he was forced to endure this fall and winter. Several of Gannon’s key starters had to deal with injuries, the team loss several extremely close games, and critics have only blamed Gannon instead of grant him a mercy we all seekingly desire when life sends us tribulation.

However, Gannon did posture an uncanny charisma earlier in the season. Whether out of genuine hope or oblivion, Gannon acted as if the losses wouldn’t impact his team’s morale in media press conferences. It wasn’t until running back Emari Demercado fumbled a crucial touchdown against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5 that fans finally saw Gannon explode into a rage of despair on the sideline. Gannon was fined $100,000 for the incident and since then, the Cardinals have gone 1-7 with all but few signs that can be noted as positive.

Gannon’s charismatic speeches have slowly subsided over the last weeks of play and his demeanor in press conferences has been overtaken by the subtle realization that the Cardinals have been underwhelming in 2025. With the 45-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Gannon’s club has now been blown out emphatically by each of his NFC West divisional foes. The Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Rams have all scored over 40 points on the Cardinals in games this season and it’s almost like a guaranteed money line to bet against Arizona on the gambling sports betting apps. Well, Gannon and the Cardinals may be headed for yet another defeat when they visit the thriving Houston Texans in Week 15. Hopefully, Gannon can find the light at the end of the tunnel in the midst of all of these consecutive losses. Time only will tell if the franchise brings him back in 2026.
