Atlanta Falcons star Bijan Robinson has issued an apology for a comment he made Thursday night following his team’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Robinson accounted for 175 yards of total offense and a touchdown in Atlanta’s upset victory and joined the Amazon Prime postgame show following the game.

He was asked about his ability to make defenders miss during the interview as a commentator observed that it seems as though Robinson is playing backyard football.

“Hey, smear the queer, that’s what we do,” Bijan Robinson said.

Bijan Robinson received backlash for his comment on social media and took to X around 1 a.m. ET to apologize for his remark.

“Hey everyone, I want to apologize for the insensitive comment I made in the broadcast, it was a football game we used to play as a kid but that’s not an excuse,“ Robinson said. “I recognize the mistake and make sure to do better in the future. It was not reflective of my beliefs and I am so sorry to those I offended seriously!”

A former Texas star, Robinson is in his third season in the NFL after earning All-American honors with the Longhorns.

He was named a Pro Bowler last year after rushing for 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns and adding 431 receiving yards and 1 score through the air.

So far in 2025, Robinson has 1,174 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, along with 684 receiving yards and 2 scores.
