Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon Shares Dire Trey Benson Update
There are also some season-ending injuries to report. Running back Trey Benson and quarterback Kyler Murray are both already ruled out for the season. Murray is dealing with a foot injury, while Jonathan Gannon shared details on the recovery of Benson.
The Cardinals head coach confirmed that Benson, who has been sidelined since late Sept., will not return for the season.
“(He) just hasn’t progressed to the point that he can out there and play football right now,” Gannon said on Wednesday.
Benson suffered the injury in Arizona’s Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 25. He underwent meniscus surgery and was expected to return by Nov. 19. However, his recovery hasn’t gone well, leading to a season-ending report.
