In the three games QB Shedeur Sanders has started for the Browns, Bears head coach Ben Johnson said he sees a spark in their offense.

That spark could be seen in plays to fellow rookies like RB Quinshon Judkins or TE Harold Fannin Jr. in Week 14 against the Titans. Judkins and Sanders connected for a 58-yard completion while Sanders found Fannin eight times for 114 receiving yards and a touchdown. Johnson and the Bears will have to contain Sanders and the Browns’ rookie playmakers in Week 15 when Cleveland and Chicago play at Soldier Field.

“I think (Browns Head Coach Kevin) Stefanski does a phenomenal job,” Johnson said. “He has played with, not only Shedeur but also the other rookie quarterback. And I think he does what he can to help those guys develop and find some easy completions to get them in a rhythm and get them going. They’re dangerous players. They can get hot and make you hurt in a hurry.”

Sanders recorded 364 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown in Week 14, becoming the first Browns quarterback to reach those marks since 1950.

He showcased his arm talent, throwing three completions of 15-plus yards through the air, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. One such throw was WR Jerry Jeudy‘s 60-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Sanders, however, found success with passes of less than 10 yards. He completed 17 of 24 passing attempts of 10 yards or less, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

Five of those passes went to Fannin, but he turned three into 10-plus yard gains. Another came on a 1-yard pass from Sanders where he gained 13 yards and a first down in the fourth quarter. Chicago’s secondary has also noticed how Sanders spreads the ball.

“Like any rookie quarterback, he’s still working through some things, but he obviously can throw the ball,” Bears DB Kevin Byard III said. “I think he’s really good throwing the ball on time. Obviously, he has some good skill players he could throw the ball to. (Browns WR Jerry) Jeudy, their rookie (Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr.) I think he’s a pretty good tight end as well. I think he’s leading the team in all those receiver categories. He’s really good.”
