Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld got married over the weekend, and as it turns out, they got an amazing gift.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and wife Hailee Steinfeld are expecting their first baby — and the expected due date could have an impact on the next season.
The actress announced the big news on Friday, revealing the pregnancy in her Beau Society newsletter by showing a video of Allen kissing her stomach.
“As I step into my 29th year as a softer, stronger version of myself, I want to appreciate some of my favorite moments from this year, both big and small,” Steinfeld wrote in a list of things to be grateful for for her 29th birthday. “29. This video…”
While Steinfeld and Allen did not share details of their exact due date, it could keep the Bills quarterback occupied at an important juncture ahead of the 2026 NFL season — but may not keep him out of any regular-season games.
Josh Allen Preparing for Big New Role
While the Bills face a critical final stretch of the 2025 season that will determine whether they can come back and win a sixth straight AFC East title, Steinfeld’s due date could affect the plans for the next season.
Steinfeld did not share an exact due date, but the timeline of her announcement and the general tendency to announce pregnancies in the second trimester would put the baby’s arrival sometime mid-year. That means Allen will miss some time during offseason training or potentially the start of training camp, but would clear him to start the season with the team.
The couple may have already been planning to make an addition to their family. When asked in a Nov. 4 interview with Bustle whether she’s thinking about having kids, Steinfeld did not hesitate in her answer.
“Of course,” Steinfeld replied, via reporter Thessaly La Force.
Steinfeld added that she feels life is complete now that she’s married to Allen.
“I literally thank God every day that I found my person, and it’s the greatest thing in the world,” she said. “Life makes sense. Everything makes sense. I feel like I am stepping into the version that I’ve always dreamed of being, having so much to do with being with him.”
Allen and Steinfeld tied the knot in May, scheduling their wedding around the team’s OTAs so that Allen and the teammates invited to the wedding did not miss any practice time.
Bills Face Big Challenge This Season
While Allen is preparing to become a father sometime in 2026, there’s still work for him and the team to do this season. Their chances of making the playoffs increased to 98% with last week’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but the Bills face a must-win game for their division hopes on Sunday against the New England Patriots.
The Patriots have a two-game lead over the Bills atop the division and would clinch the title with a win. While the Bills still have a clear path to a playoff spot, this would force them to go on the road to start the postseason and could make it difficult to return to Orchard Park, even if they do advance past the wild-card round.
