The Jets will enter 2026 with another piece of their offensive line returning.

Center Josh Myers signed a two-year, $11 million extension that will keep him with the Jets through the end of the 2027 season, The Post confirmed. Myers, 27, spent the first four years of his career with the Packers before joining the Jets on a one-year deal and competing with Joe Tippmann for the starting spot. Then, when Alijah Vera-Tucker tore his triceps in practice before Week 1, an injury that will sideline him for the entire season, Tippmann shifted to right guard and Myers emerged as Gang Green’s center.

“It meant everything to me,” Myers said of his extension after practice Friday ahead of the Jets’ game against the Jaguars. “For the team to want to commit to me early and just the time I’ve had here and the relationships I’ve built in such a short time, it was an easy decision.”

Conversations for the extension took about a week and a half, Myers said, and he expressed a belief in the culture that Glenn and the Jets have started to build. At some point, he added, Gang Green will start winning games, and his deal ensured that Myers will have a chance to potentially carve out a role in that.

The results have been mixed for Myers so far this season, though. His overall grade in 2025 is just 53.6, according to Pro Football Focus — which places him 37th out of 38 centers who qualified for the metric. He has been responsible for 25 pressures (third-most among centers) and surrendered four sacks as part of Gang Green’s 47 total, but the Jets have rushed for the seventh-most yards per game (128.4) this season, typically needing to rely on that layer of their offense to compensate for brutal passing production.

So while the Jets have plenty of questions to answer on offense throughout the spring, starting with the obvious dilemma of quarterback and extending to receiving depth, they’ll at least have some consistency on the line. Tippmann, Myers, left tackle Olu Fashanu and right tackle Armand Membou are all under contract. Left guard John Simpson will be a free agent, while Vera-Tucker is set to become an unrestricted free agent, too. The Jets have started the same collection of offensive lineman in every game this season, finally landing on some stability after years of shuffling and turnover at the position.

And now, they’re positioned to transfer most of that continuity into next season.

“He deserves it,” head coach Aaron Glenn said of Myers, “and again, he came to a team where he knew there was going to be competition, and stiff competition at that. … I feel very fortunate that he chose us, this team, and me to be his coach, to come in and battle for that spot.”
