The next few weeks will be crucial for the Los Angeles Rams.

Tied for the best record in the NFC with divisional rival Seattle Seahawks, the Rams have no room to give up in the race for the first seed in the conference in the final game stretch of the season if they want to have the first-round bye in the playoffs.

Los Angeles continues to play like a Super Bowl contender, but the injuries may be starting to catch up to them, making the road to Santa Clara a bit harder. For Week 15, the Rams may be without one of their key signings of the offseason and may hinder the offense’s performance.

Rams Could Without Star PlayerMatthew Stafford, formerly of the Detroit Lions now with the Los Angeles Rams

Quarterback Matthew Stafford is having an MVP-caliber season at the age of 37 and in huge part due to the offensive weapons around him.

The 17-year veteran currently leads the league with 35 passing touchdowns and has the fourth most passing yards with 3,353 yards. But Stafford could be without his $44 million wide receiver in a matchup against his former team.

Rams head coach Sean McVay announced that Davante Adams will be a game-time decision for the matchup against the Detroit Lions.

“Would be very surprised if he [isn’t] ready to roll,” McVay said when announcing Adams’ status. “That’s what his mindset and mentality has been all week.”

Adams did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday in the lead-up to the game against Detroit, but was a limited participant on Friday.

The six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has been the go-to guy for Stafford when the Rams are in the red zone, leading the team with 14 touchdowns, more than double the next player on the team.

If the Rams don’t have Adams out there, it could play a major factor in whether Los Angeles will or will not play in the wildcard this postseason.

$10 Million Filling In For Adams

If Davante Adams weren’t ready to go for the matchup against the Detroit Lions, the Rams have a good player to fill in the spot.

Tutu Atwell will be activated from injured reserve after dealing with a hamstring injury since Week 8 of the 2025 season. The wide receiver was a full participant in the practices ahead of the game against the Lions.

Getting Atwell back will give the Rams a huge boost in morale if Adams were not to play against Detroit. Tutu is well-versed in the offense Sean McVay runs and will likely get some quality snaps in his first game back.

“It’s really good,” McVay responded when asked about getting Atwell back with Adams being questionable. “It’s a real luxury.”

Before going down with his hamstring injury, Atwell hauled in 164 yards and a single touchdown.
