NFL Week 15 picks: Consider Seahawks, Chargers and Texans

Lorenzo Reyes suggests picking against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15 Locks.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robison posted an apology on social media on Dec. 11 after making an “insensitive comment” after his team’s 29-28 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football.

Robinson, who had 19 carries for 93 yards and a score in the win for Atlanta, mentioned playing a game some call “Smear the Queer” after Amazon Prime Video analyst Richard Sherman asked him about how he makes defenders miss him, which includes a slur toward the LGBTQ+ community.

The Thursday Night Football broadcast crew immediately tried to deflect the comment, with Ryan Fitzpatrick calling it “kill the carrier,” a different name for the game.

NFL Week 15 picks: Falcons at Buccaneers | Browns at Bears | Ravens at Bengals | Cardinals at Texans | Jets at Jaguars | Chargers at Chiefs | Bills at Patriots | Commanders at Giants | Raiders at Eagles | Packers at Broncos | Lions at Rams | Panthers at Saints | Colts at Seahawks | Titans at 49ers | Vikings at Cowboys | Dolphins at Steelers | The Republic’s picks

Robinson posted on social media that the comment was “not reflective of the beliefs.”

His post said: “Hey everyone I want to apologize for the insensitive comment I made in the broadcast, it was a football game we used to play as a kid but that’s not an excuse. I recognize the mistake and make sure to do better in the future. It was not reflective of my beliefs and I am so sorry to those I offended seriously!,” he posted.

Social media blew up after Robinson’s comment with a wide range of replies, with some condemning Robinson for the remark, others accepting his apology and others wondering why he needed to apologize in the first place.
