The Las Vegas Raiders have taken speculation out of the equation — QB Kenny Pickett will officially make his second start since leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers against his former Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15.

After ruling out veteran QB Geno Smith with a shoulder injury, Raiders HC Pete Carroll revealed that Pickett would get the starting nod this Sunday versus Philadelphia.

“Geno won’t make it back,” Carroll told reporters. “He tried, couldn’t get it done in this amount of time. Has a really good chance to be back next week, so Kenny’s going to take the lead.”

Selected by the Steelers with the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Pickett has appeared in eight games since leaving Pittsburgh in 2024 — throwing for 396 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

A huge opportunity awaits Pickett in Week 15, as a strong performance against the Eagles could force the Raiders to consider naming the former first-round quarterback the starter for the final few games of the 2025 season.
