CLEVELAND, OHIO (TheOBR.com) – Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
THE DAILY BLOVIATION
I’ll admit – I’m looking forward to the Browns’ next game, tomorrow against the Chicago Bears. This would seem odd, as the team is 3-10 and carries with it an absurdly long injury list (seven out, four questionable). It looks like yet another likely loss during the stretch run of another Cleveland Browns losing season. At this stage of another three-to-six-win Browns season, I’m usually just grinding through the games and looking forward to the hope that springs anew during the off-season.
But that’s different right now, and it’s different because the Browns have a rookie quarterback who threw for 364 yards last week against the Tennessee Titans, and could potentially be the steal of the draft for a team that has been looking for a quarterback for more than three decades.
It was the sort of performance that gets people very excited, with the usual suspects in the media trying to lure clickers with tales of how the Browns quarterback search might be over and how the team might be able to avoid drafting one early in 2026.
But while I look forward to seeing whether Sanders can put together stellar games back-to-back, I have to admit that things are not lining up well for that potential outcome.
Among other things, the Browns are again struggling with injuries, particularly on the offensive line, where four of the five starters may not play against the Bears. Sanders is getting 3.39 seconds to throw the ball in his starts, which is around the highest in the NFL, and I don’t look for him to get that in the Windy City.

The Chicago defense is an extraordinarily opportunistic outfit, among the league leaders in interceptions, and the combination of lesser pass protection with ballhawks in the Bears’ secondary is not a good one.
Furthermore, the weather conditions aren’t exactly encouraging for a big offensive display. Temperatures will be in the single digits, with winds that may gust up to 27 mph. Not exactly great pass-catching weather.
Finally, well, Shedeur Sanders is a rookie, and despite doing what appears to be a great job of incorporating the coaching he’s receiving, rookies remain obstinately inconsistent in general.
So, as interested as I am in Sunday’s game, I’m going to keep my expectations low for the contest and for Shedeur Sanders specifically. If I’m right and Sanders can’t repeat his performance against the Tennessee Titans, there’s little reason to be depressed. I expect that Sanders will continue to have highs and lows, ups and downs as he progresses. A weaker performance on Sunday is to be expected and likely not a cause for alarm.
Have a good one! GO BROWNS!

Study suggests an interest in art leads to a more meaningful life – (goodgoodgood.co)
I’ll admit that my art appreciation pretty much ended with a high school art appreciation class. A bee once became entangled in my hair during this class, but that’s a story for another day. I’m not good at walking around museums and seeing deep meaning in artwork, as I’m not knowledgeable enough. This article says that those of you who are might be getting more out of life, so maybe that’s something I should change. I’ll get right on that after watching a bad sci-fi movie this evening, as long as it has aliens and lasers in it. And explosions. Can’t forget those.
