The Green Bay Packers now have two running backs questionable for the Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos in Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson.
Jacobs was on the injury report all week with a knee issue and logged just one limited practice before drawing the questionable tag.
Wilson, on the other hand, was added to the injury report on Saturday with an illness and is now questionable, also.
Also on Saturday, the Packers made a roster move to give themselves another option at running back. Here’s what it means for Jacobs.
Josh Jacobs injury update
The Packers have elevated running back Pierre Strong from the practice squad for the contest against the Broncos, so he’ll be available to play if Green Bay needs him.
The Packers are obviously elevating Strong just in case one of their two backs don’t play. We would say it’s more for Jacobs than Wilson, though, as players will rarely miss a game because of an illness.
The fact that Jacobs only practiced once this week means he has a real chance to sit out, and the elevation of Wilson only reinforces that.
If Jacobs doesn’t suit up, Wilson will take the reins of the backfield like he did in Week 12, when Jacobs sat out that contest.
Wilson tallied 107 rushing yards and two scores in that game, which makes him a solid starting option in fantasy football in Week 15 if Jacobs is ruled out.
We’ll get confirmation on Jacobs’ status no later than around 2:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, when Green Bay posts its list of inactives.
