The New York Jets offense will face an incredibly difficult challenge in Week 15. Their opponent, the 9-5 Jacksonville Jaguars, rank 11th on defense in both yards and points allowed. Furthermore, the Jets are dealing with various injuries at quarterback that places the offense in an undesirable situation.
With a cautious approach, we’ve identified three potential X-factors for the Jets on offense against the Jaguars in Week 15.
Brady Cook, QB
All indications are that rookie undrafted quarterback Brady Cook will start for the Jets on Sunday. Cook struggled in relief of an injured Tyrod Taylor in Week 14, completing under 50 percent of his passes with multiple turnovers. The former Missouri quarterback must showcase improvement if the Jets are to avoid a blowout loss.
Breece Hall, RB
The Jets are going to need to lean on Breece Hall with Cook starting at quarterback. The dual-threat playmaker was limited to 43 rushing yards and zero receptions last weekend. They’ll need a far bigger performance from Hall on Sunday.
Adonai Mitchell, WR
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell was drastically impacted by last weekend’s mid-game quarterback change. Mitchell was fresh off of a 102-yard receiving game with Taylor at quarterback. He produced just one reception (on six targets) for 24 yards with Cook under center.
