Will Houston Texans cornerback Kamari Lassiter suit up when they take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at NRG Stadium?
According to reports, Lassiter is planning to play after returning to practice on Friday, following a foot injury suffered earlier this season. Last week, Lassiter missed practice until Friday, but returned and started opposite of Derek Stingley Jr. as Houston secured its fifth straight win.
Should Lassiter experience a setback with his foot, Tremon Smith would be his primary replacement on the outside. The Texans also elevated rookie Alijah Huzzie and picked up Buffalo Bills defensive back Ja’Marcus Ingram off waivers ahead of Sunday’s contest.
Lassiter missed the first two days of practice but returned to practice on Friday on a limited basis. He was listed as questionable entering the weekend.
A former 2024 second-round pick, Lassiter has started every game this season for the Texans, totaling 72 tackles, three interceptions, and 12 pass breakups. Often overshadowed by his All-Pro teammate, Lassiter has emerged as one of the better No. 2 cornerbacks in the league.
Kickoff is scheduled for Noon CT. With a win, the Texans would be a 99 percent favorite to make the AFC playoffs.
