The Chicago Bears have been a pleasant surprise to watch this NFL season, but their fans might want to avoid this weekend’s home game against the Cleveland Browns.
According to Bears Wire, the high for Sunday’s game is 13 degrees. As if that wasn’t bad enough, wind chills could reach as low as -20 degrees. Since the wind will be whipping at roughly 22 MPH, both passing games could be seriously limited.

As for the fans who’ll be in attendance, a safety warning was officially issued by the Bears.
“With frigid weather conditions expected across Chicagoland this weekend and around game time, the Chicago Bears are advising fans to plan ahead for Sunday’s home game against the Cleveland Browns at Soldier Field on Dec. 14. Forecasts call for frigid temperatures potentially dropping below zero,” the team said in a press release.
“Working closely with the Chicago Park District, the Chicago Bears are implementing enhanced game day measures designed to prioritize fan safety while preserving an exciting game day experience.”

The Bears will deploy these tactics in an effort to keep their fans warm:
Warming centers will be located at Loop Landing (behind Section 146), on the Service Level near the Dr Pepper Patio, NW colonnade and the south side of the colonnades.
Battery-operated clothing will be permitted. However, certain clothing could be subject to additional security screening.
Hot chocolate, cider and coffee will be available throughout Soldier Field.
Hand warmers will be available for purchase at the pro shop.
Blankets are permitted for the game.

Are the Bears ready for the cold ?
Speaking to the media this week, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams expressed the importance of keeping his body warm throughout the game.
“Weather and elements don’t bother me,” Williams said, via ABC 7 Chicago. “So just being able to get warm, get my body warm and get out there and deliver good balls to my guys and let them make plays.”

Williams enters Week 15 with 2,908 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. We’d have to imagine he won’t be asked to carry the offense this Sunday.
If the Bears are going to take care of business against the Browns, they’ll need running backs Kyle Monangai and D’Andre Swift to continue playing at a high level.
Kickoff for the Browns-Bears game is at 1 p.m. ET.
