Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane is expected to play on Monday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques. Achane suffered a rib injury that knocked him out of the team’s Week 14 matchup against the New York Jets, but the expectation was always that he would suit up this week. Despite being limited in practice the last two days, McDaniel is confident Achane will be available.

Achane is the Dolphins’ biggest offensive weapon, and he’s had himself an impressive 2025 campaign. He’s run for 1,126 yards on 5.8 yards per carry, while also adding 55 receptions for 383 yards and 11 total touchdowns. The Dolphins have won their last four games in large part due to his play, as he’s run for over 90 yards in each of the last four games, including over 100 yards in each game except for the Jets game, which he left with an injury.
The Steelers have allowed over 200 yards on the ground over the last two games, and their run defense has easily been their biggest weakness. Slowing down Achane is a necessity if the Steelers are going to win, and it will be much easier if the team has DL Derrick Harmon in the lineup. Pittsburgh’s first-round pick, Harmon, has been a solid run defender this season, and with him out of the lineup, the team has to rely on Yahya Black, who’s struggled to stay in his gap and has gotten driven off the ball over the last two weeks playing starter snaps.
In addition to Achane, the Dolphins expect CB Jack Jones to be ready to go. Jones was limited on the injury report yesterday after not being listed on Thursday, but per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post, McDaniel also said Jones should be good to go.

Jones will likely serve on the outside and could see some time covering DK Metcalf, who is coming off his best game as a member of the Steelers. Both Jones and Achane were the two biggest Dolphins with injury questions, but the assumption was always that Achane would play, and nothing has changed there. Jones’ injury, which happened mid-week, left his status in some doubt, but barring a setback in Miami’s practice tonight, it sounds as if the Dolphins will be fairly healthy for their primetime matchup with the Steelers.
