ESPN’s College GameDay has been a staple for college football fans since it’s debut on the road in 1993. FOX tried to recreate the wheel in 2019 with Big Noon Kickoff, much to the chagrin of certain soft fanbases. No matter how you feel about each show, there’s no denying the games they are at are usually some of the best of the season.

Last offseason, we projected where each show would be in 2024. We correctly identified eight of the 15 GameDay locations and five of the 14 Big Noon locations, though the surge of Indiana was wholly unexpected and caused most of the misses on the Big Noon side.

Today, we’re going to predict where each show will be every week of the 2025 season. As a reminder, ESPN can select any location for GameDay, while FOX has ties to the Big Ten and Big 12, though they’ve shown an extreme priority for the Big Ten.

Week 0: Kansas State vs. Iowa State in Dublin, Ireland (ESPN), None (FOX)

GameDay traveled to Dublin for the College Football Classic last season between Florida State and Georgia Tech. We have no reason to believe they won’t do the same this season. Big Noon traditionally hasn’t kicked off their schedule until Week 1, so we’ll project them to follow suit in 2025.

Week 1: Texas at Ohio State (ESPN), Texas at Ohio State (FOX)

FOX has already announced Big Noon will be in Columbus despite many Buckeyes’ objections. ESPN will undoubtedly be there as well as this is one of the top matchups of the entire season, at least on paper.

Week 2: Michigan at Oklahoma (ESPN), Michigan at Oklahoma (FOX)

With respect to the Iowa/Iowa State rivalry game in Week 2, I would be stunned to see either show anywhere but Norman. The Wolverines and Sooners are two historic programs that have hardly ever played each other. On top of that, it could be the world’s first opportunity to see Bryce Underwood on the big stage.

Week 3: Georgia at Tennessee (ESPN), Pitt at West Virginia (FOX)

There are a few quality options in Week 3 between Wisconsin at Alabama, Florida at LSU and Texas A&M at Notre Dame. However, with ESPN fully on the SEC hype train, I’d expect them to be at the first major SEC clash of the season in Knoxville. As for Big Noon, the Big Ten options are slim, so I’d expect them to travel to Morgantown to help fulfill their secondary Big 12 obligations.

Week 4: Florida at Miami (ESPN), Illinois at Indiana (FOX)

While Week 3 had a ton of quality matchups, Week 4 is slim pickings. Illinois and Indiana were two of the biggest surprises in the Big Ten last season, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Big Noon reward them with an appearance. As for GameDay, Miami’s crawl back to relevance could be rewarded with an appearance in a relatively weak slate.

Week 5: Alabama at Georgia (ESPN), Oregon at Penn State (FOX)

The Week 5 slate is headlined by two monstrous games at the top: Alabama at Georgia, and Oregon at Penn State. Big Noon is nearly a lock to be in Happy Valley despite the complaints of Penn State fans. I certainly could see a scenario where College GameDay is there as well, but GameDay has been at 11 Alabama vs. Georgia matchups since 2002. The executives at ESPN love this matchup, so I’ll be projecting them to be in Athens.

Week 6: Clemson at North Carolina (ESPN), Wisconsin at Michigan (FOX)

Several projections I’ve read have GameDay going to the Texas/Florida game here. However, I believe the Gators will already have a couple losses prior to Week 6, which would dampen the enthusiasm for this game. Instead, I have GameDay meeting their ACC quota by seeing the novelty that is Bill Belichick hosting Dabo. As for Big Noon, the Big Ten slate is weak, so I have them trekking to Ann Arbor for the first time in 2025.

Week 7: Ohio State at Illinois (ESPN), Ohio State at Illinois (FOX)

The number of Power Four schools that have never hosted GameDay is down to six. Importantly, that number includes Illinois. If the Fighting Illini are able to dispatch Indiana and USC (admittedly a big “if”), they could be 6-0 headed into this game. Should that scenario take place, FOX will almost assuredly be there, while GameDay would be tempted to take another school off the never-visited list. If not, Oklahoma vs. Texas or Arizona State at Utah would be excellent consolation prizes.

Week 8: Texas Tech at Arizona State (ESPN), Utah at BYU (FOX)

The Week 8 slate doesn’t have many high-end matchups. The Holy War will certainly attract FOX’s executives, while ESPN could choose from Tennessee at Alabama, Ole Miss at Georgia, and USC at Notre Dame. Instead, I have them traveling to Big 12 territory as the Red Raiders and Sun Devils are the two favorites to win the conference.

Week 9: Alabama at South Carolina (ESPN), Colorado at Utah (FOX)

After narrowly missing the CFP last year, both Alabama and South Carolina want to make a statement this year. Both should be highly ranked at this point in the season given the amount of returning talent and production. As for FOX, the Big Ten slate isn’t very enticing outside the state of Michigan (at Michigan State) so I expect them to go to the Big 12 again.

Week 10: Penn State at Ohio State (ESPN), Penn State at Ohio State (FOX)

At least on paper, this is looking like the game of the season for those with no emotional attachment. Can James Franklin finally get over the hump against the Buckeyes? Probably not, but people will still tune in to watch it from coast to coast.

Week 11: LSU at Alabama (ESPN), Indiana at Penn State (FOX)

Go ahead and fill in LSU at Alabama in pen on your calendar, as this should be the best game in Week 11. It would be a surprise if either team wasn’t ranked highly at this point. In the Big Ten, Indiana at Penn State could be incredibly intriguing if the Hoosiers are for real yet again.

Week 12: Texas at Georgia (ESPN), UCLA at Ohio State (FOX)

The mammoth games in the SEC just keep coming thanks to conference expansion. Assuming Georgia is what it usually is, expect Arch Manning to take his Longhorns into a hostile environment front and center on ESPN/ABC. As for Big Noon, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Nico Iamaleava’s return to Columbus be advertised heavily. After falling well short with Tennessee in December, will he have more luck with UCLA?

Week 13: USC at Oregon (ESPN), Arizona State at Colorado (FOX)

This is arguably the hardest week to project, as the slate is incredibly weak. Look for ESPN to use this as an excuse to get to Autzen, while FOX gets back to Joel Klatt’s old stomping grounds in Colorado.

Week 14: Ohio State at Michigan (ESPN), Ohio State at Michigan (FOX)

Like the Week 1 matchup between Texas and Ohio State, FOX has already announced they’ll be at The Game. Expect GameDay to follow suit, as Michigan vs. Ohio State is always appointment television.
