WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It was a room full of disappointment at Pumphouse following the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
“They just blew it… they just shot themselves in the foot,” said Darius Taylor, a Chiefs fan.
The loss brings the Chief’s record to 6-8, and it leaves fans looking for reasons.
“Andy Reid keeps on drafting receivers that don’t have hands, so they drop the ball all the time,” said Sam Sonleonhardt, a Denver Broncos fan.
Others say it was Mahomes’ fourth quarter ACL tear.
“These injuries are making hope dwindle for all those Chiefs fans out there,” said Jamey Regier, a Washington Commanders fan.
Still others chalk the loss up to a bad last minute play call.
“They could’ve won, they either could’ve tied it up, which I would’ve went for the field goal if it was me,” Taylor said.
Although it’s the earliest playoff elimination for the Chiefs since 2012, fans at Pumphouse are still confident that the dynasty is not over, and that the team will be back and better next year.
“I think the Chiefs are going to be back next year,” said Carlos Candanedo, a Chiefs fan.
They believe that, with just a few tune ups and adjustments, the team will be back and as strong as before.
“They need to fix their O line, that’s been a problem since they got beat by Brady in the Super Bowl,” said Elijah Gonzales, another Chiefs fan.
“Don’t burn your jerseys, they’re going to be back next year,” Candanedo said.
