After a week off, the San Francisco 49ers welcomed the Tennessee Titans to Levi’s Stadium for a Week 15 battle, and Kyle Shanahan’s squad earned a _ victory, moving them to 10-4 on the season.
While San Francisco secured the win, they played far from their best game, and there are quite a few 49ers who will probably want to move on quickly.
Here are some of San Francisco’s worst performers from Sunday’s win.
LG Spencer Burford
Burford has jumped in as the starting left guard after Ben Bartch suffered a season-ending injury and Connor Colby was benched. On Sunday, he allowed the pressure that resulted in Brock Purdy’s strip sack. He was also called for a false start on San Francisco’s second-to-last possession.
Run defense
Tennessee doesn’t boast the best passing game in the league, but they have a decent ground attack. Robert Saleh’s unit should’ve been keyed in on stopping Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, but the duo combined for 138 yards and a score (Pollard’s) on 8.1 yards per attempt. Injuries have decimated San Francisco’s defensive front, but they still should be better than that.
Brian Robinson Jr.
Robinson hasn’t done much the last couple of weeks, and that streak continued in Week 15, as he ran for just 21 yards on an abysmal 2.3 yards per carry. Christian McCaffrey wasn’t efficient either (rushing for 73 yards on 3.3 yards per carry), but he at least found the end zone.
Every single defensive player on the field when Jeffrey Simmons scored
Simmons was wide open in the back of the end zone to catch the second touchdown of his career. That’s inexcusable. Luke Gifford was the player closest to Simmons, so he should get the most blame, but no one should be happy after that play.
