Shedeur Sanders’ wrists always seem to be a topic of discussion.
Normally it’s because of his watch celebration, but in Week 15, it was because the Cleveland Browns‘ rookie was dealing with some sort of wristband issue – the wristband which includes play calls for the Browns offense.

Sanders had to have the wristband adjusted during the Browns’ loss to the Chicago Bears, according to NFL on Fox’s Allison Williams.
“Prior to this possession, when Shedeur was on the sideline, they removed the wristband with the play calls in there and they made a change to one of the sheets and some tweaks,” Williams said at the start of the second quarter.
It was the Browns’ third possession of the game, already trailing 14-0.

Sanders also spoke about the issue after the 31-3 loss, but had a different explanation.
“Oh no, the card just fell out,” Sanders said. “It just fell out on the sideline. That was it.”
People have been paying close attention to the Browns and their rookie passer in 2025, given Sanders’ unique entrance into the league after falling to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft.
With Sanders set to start the rest of the way, he will continue making his case to have a chance at the starting job in 2026. Cleveland (3-11), however, is eyeing another top pick in the upcoming draft, leaving the door open for a number of possibilities.

For now, Sanders is looking to control what he can control and that is at least three more games to audition for Cleveland’s QB1 of the future.
