The NFL’s playoff picture is coming into focus. For teams at the top of each conference, the conversation shifts to jockeying for position. The potential qualifiers are busy making one final push to stamp their invitation to the postseason dance. The Philadelphia Eagles are in great shape.
If the regular season were to end after Week 15, the Eagles would be the third seed behind the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears. Their most significant threat to winning the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys, stumbled in a primetime Sunday Night Football game.

Their playoff hopes are two inches from being over. All that’s needed is one final nail to be driven into the coffin. Dallas has one shot at making the dance, and those who self-identify as Eagles fans have to feel good about their team’s chances of delivering the knockout punch.
The Cowboys need a miracle to take the NFC East from the Eagles.
The Eagles took care of business in Week 15 by dominating the Las Vegas Raiders in a 31-0 victory. They’re now 9-5 with three games remaining. Later that evening, the Cowboys lost at home vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Dallas has fallen to 6-7-1. They can no longer earn a Wild Card Round berth.
Dallas now has a 1% chance of making the playoffs. They have one shot at qualifying. They must win the NFC East. For that to happen, they must win out, and Philadelphia must lose out. One more win by the Eagles annihilates the Cowboys’ hopes.

The Eagles sandwich a game vs. the Buffalo Bills between two contests vs. the reeling Washington Commanders. The Cowboys finish with home games vs. the Los Angeles Chargers and road games vs. the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants.
It’s too early to say it’s over, but it might be over. The Eagles are on the verge of doing something that hasn’t been done in two decades. They can become the NFC East’s first back-to-back winner since they won four straight crowns between 2001 and 2004.
