Let’s take a closer look at each of the Jaguars’ UDFAs. Up next is Oregon tight end Patrick Herbert.

In addition to their nine draft picks, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed 22 undrafted rookies as well, following the 2025 NFL draft.

Just as we did with each of the nine selections, let’s take a closer look at each of the Jaguars‘ UDFAs. Up next is Oregon tight end Patrick Herbert.

Patrick Herbert’s profile

Patrick Herbert is the brother of LA Chargers‘ quarterback Justin Herbert.

From 2022 through 2024, Herbert played 1,070 snaps on offense, the majority of which came as a run-blocker. As the Jaguars have reshaped the tight end room this offseason, blocking ability has been a clear emphasis at this position under Liam Coen.

For his career, Herbert caught 31-of-40 passes (77.5%) at 12.5 yards per catch with four touchdowns. In this most recent 2024 season, he caught 10 passes for 97 yards, according to PFF.

Along with his contributions on offense, Herbert played 267 special teams snaps over the last two seasons, most of which came on the kick return and field goal protection units.

They said it

Oregon TE coach Drew Mehringer: “Patrick Herbert is the epitome of toughness,” Mehringer said via The Register-Guard last season. “This is a guy that doesn’t say a whole lot, that does the right thing, that misses very, very, very rare assignments, is prepared, plays through injury. He’s banged up? Doesn’t care. He breaks his finger in the middle of practice? Doesn’t care. Will not put on a red jersey. He is an awesome human being.”
