The New York Jets will have a new defensive play-caller when they visit the New Orleans Saints this week.
Jets head coach Aaaron Glenn announced Monday that he’d fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks following New York’s 48-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chris Harris will take over the defensive coordinator and play-calling duties for the Jets.
The loss dropped the Jets to 30th in the NFL in scoring defense. New York has allowed at least 30 points in six games this season, tied for the fourth most in the league this season.
Remarkably, through 14 games, the Jets have not recorded a single interception. They are the first team in the modern era to have not recorded at least one interception through the first 14 games of the season.
