JUMP TO:
The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Miami Dolphins for Week 15’s “Monday Night Football” matchup. The Dolphins will face not only the Steelers but also an intense wind chill, with the game temperature nearing single digits.
Both teams come into the game still alive in the playoff hunt. Pittsburgh has a 7-6 record and sits atop the AFC North. Win or lose, the Steelers will be the division leader heading into Week 16; it just depends on how big a lead they have. A win, and Pittsburgh has a one-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens. A loss, and the Steelers are only on top due to holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens, who they face in Week 18.
The Dolphins do not control their own playoff destiny. Miami started the season 1-6 and has gone 5-1 in its last six games, entering the MNF matchup with a 6-7 record. A loss would eliminate the Dolphins from playoff contention. A win would keep Miami alive, but it still needs several things to go its way over the last three weeks of the season to make the playoffs.
It is worth noting that the Steelers will not have TJ Watt for the game. He suffered a punctured lung during a dry needling recovery session, and it required surgery. The star defender is expected back at some point this season, but it won’t be Monday night against Miami.

9:59 p.m.: On 3rd & 3, Rodgers tries hitting Valdez-Scantling downfield and though it comes up incomplete, a 12-men on the field penalty extends the drive.

9:20 p.m.: Rodgers connects with Gainwell again, and he gets Pittsburgh a 1st & goal inside the five.
Gainwell gets crushed and facemasked the next play, and the Steelers inch closer.
9:19 p.m.: A screen pass to Gainwell set up a 3rd & 1 inside the 20. Though, Pittsburgh can’t get it on third down.
On 4th & 1, Heyward comes in for another carry and just gets a first down, giving the Steelers a new set of yardage.
9:12 p.m.: Going back to the first quarter, Mike Tomlin has reached a historic feat, but not in the good way.

The Steelers punt for the third straight time to open the game.

Though, Heyward gets his second consecutive touch and piles forward for the Steelers’ first first down.
8:30 p.m.: It was going well for the Dolphins, but Tagovailoa just threw the progress away. Right after hitting Waddle on a dart, Tagovailoa underthrows a ball for the receiver, and it’s intercepted by Asante Samuel Jr.
It’s the quarterback’s 15th of the season, which leads the NFL.

The Steelers go three-and-out, and Tagovailoa and co. will start at their 30.
8:23 p.m.: Rodgers’ first pass goes to Jonnu Smith, who spent 2024 with the Dolphins and tallied a career-high 884 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Though, this pass only goes for one yard.
