Former Jaguars’ running back Cody Schrader has landed with the Broncos, who happen to be Jacksonville’s opponent this week.

The Denver Broncos claimed former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Cody Schrader on waivers on Monday.

The Broncos also just so happen to play the Jaguars this week.

Jacksonville released Schrader from the 53-man roster prior to Week 14 to make room for safety Eric Murray, who was being activated from injured reserve.

Schrader had spent most of the 2025 season with the Jaguars, but as the fourth running back, he had not appeared in any games as a regular healthy scratch on Sundays.

After the Jaguars released Schrader, he went on waivers and was claimed by the Houston Texans.

Schrader was then waived by Houston this past Saturday and claimed by the Broncos.

Schrader of course, is going to have knowledge of the Jaguars’ offense — and to a degree, the defense as well — with Denver, I would guess, attempting to extract any sort of additional insights that they can.

Throughout the NFL in a given week, there is often going to be some level of overlap, given the roster turnover. So Schrader, having played with the Jaguars this season, isn’t the be-all, end-all when it comes to Sunday’s matchup by any means. But it is noteworthy.
