Head Coach Sean McDermott confirmed that kicker Matt Prater will not play in Cleveland, he is considered “week to week” with a quad injury.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills are dealing with another blow to their special teams unit.
Head Coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that kicker Matt Prater is “week to week” with a quad injury. He has been ruled out for this week’s game in Cleveland against the Browns.

Prater isn’t the only kicker on the injury list. Tyler Bass was placed on injured reserve before the season and underwent season-ending surgery earlier this month for a groin injury. While a new kicker will suit up for the Bills this week, there is no word yet on who that player will be or when they will join the team.
“Not ideal,” McDermott said. “Matt’s done a really good job having that consistency during the year. Obviously, T-Bass (Tyler Bass) had the surgery, so he’s not an option either. So we’ll figure that piece out.”Â
The Bills will also be without defensive tackle Jordan Phillips this week. Phillips was removed from Sunday’s game against New England after suffering an ankle injury.
McDermott also said that cornerback Christian Benford (toe) and linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle) are entering this week as “questionable” for Sunday’s away game. Both players did not suit up in the team’s win against the Patriots.
