Netflix is changing holiday traditions this Christmas with a halftime show you won’t want to miss.
Global icon Snoop Dogg will headline “Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party” during Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday on Dec. 25.
The event will be live from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where the Minnesota Vikings will host the Detroit Lions, but all eyes will be on Snoop Dogg at halftime.
Snoop Dogg promises chart-topping tracks, plenty of holiday spirit, and special guests for an unforgettable performance.
To share the news, Netflix released an announcement video narrated by legendary funk icon George Clinton.
NFL Christmas gameday returns to Netflix in 2025 with two marquee games showcasing NFC division rivals.
The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders game will stream live on Netflix at 1 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, followed by the Lions-Vikings game at 4:30 p.m. ET from U.S. Bank Stadium.
Pregame coverage begins at 11 a.m. ET.
Last year, Netflix kicked off its inaugural Christmas Gameday with international superstar Beyoncé performing at halftime of the Ravens-Texas game, known as the four-time Emmy-nominated Beyoncé Bowl.
Continuing the tradition started in 2024, each team playing on Christmas Day will wear a festive, holiday-inspired patch on its uniform during both its Week 16 and Christmas Day games.
The patch features the NFL shield backed by two candy canes.
Detroit affiliation
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (Snoop Dogg), named after his stepfather, has been a musical icon since the 1990s, representing the West Coast through Long Beach, California.
But he is very familiar with the city, as his biological father, Vernell Varnado, a Vietnam veteran, lived and worked in Detroit as a mailman.
During the summer, Snoop would spend his teenage years at his biological father’s house in Detroit, making the city his second home.
Detroit native and Cass Tech graduate Big Sean even featured the rap icon on his 2012 “Detroit” album, “Story by Snoop Lion,” which he was going by at the time.
