One of the biggest storylines to come out of the Tennessee Titans‘ Week 15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was injuries.

The Titans saw six key contributors, including three safeties, go down during the game, challenging the team’s depth. While interim head coach Mike McCoy failed to update their conditions on Monday, the fates of safeties Xavier Woods, Kevin Winston Jr., and Mike Brown were revealed today.

The Titans announced that all three, Brown, Winston, and Woods, are being placed on season-ending injured reserve, leaving the Titans extremely thin in the secondary heading into their Week 16 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

To help add some depth to the unit, Tennessee added safeties Erick Hallett (Detroit Lions) and Sanoussi Kane (Baltimore Ravens) to the 53-man roster.

Hallett entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2023 NFL draft and has spent most of his career on the Jaguars’ and Detroit Lions’ practice squads. He has some NFL experience, playing in two games and making eight tackles in his lone start for the Lions in October, but was eventually released and re-signed to the practice squad, where he remained until the Titans signed him.

Kane was a seventh-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 NFL draft and spent his entire career with the Ravens. In parts of two seasons in Baltimore, he has appeared in 21 games and recorded 10 total tackles.

Tennessee will be back on the field on Wednesday as they begin preparing for the Chiefs, with one open roster spot remaining. It will be interesting to see how the Titans handle adding some more depth to their challenged secondary.
