The New York Jets were embarrassed for a second consecutive game in Week 15, losing 48-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was another forgettable performance as the Jets fell to 3-11.
Rookie undrafted quarterback Brady Cook made his first career start. Cook performed admirably, but the spotlight quickly shifted from his performance to the atrocious defense.

With that, Jets Wire has identified three things we learned about the Jets during Sunday’s lopsided defeat.
No answers on defense
The Jets defense just continues to sink lower and lower. The 48 points allowed were a season-high and all 48 were scored by the Jaguars offense. Trevor Lawrence scored six total touchdowns, three times the amount of Jaguars punts (two) on Sunday.
Brady Cook is a gamer
Cook hung in there throughout a tough afternoon and showcased the ability to fight through adversity. The former Missouri signal-caller completed 22-of-33 passing attempts for 176 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Cook’s touchdown arrived before his trio of interceptions did.

NFL draft order improvement
It’s difficult to identify any positives for the Jets on Sunday. If there’s a moral victory, it’s that Sunday’s embarrassment moved the Jets into the top five (No. 5) of the real-time 2026 NFL draft order, an improvement of two spots (seventh) from pre-kickoff. Darren Mougey also owns the Indianapolis Colts‘ first-round pick, and the Colts lost 18-16 to the Seattle Seahawks.
