Emotions were running high for the New England Patriots in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. Both teams played with physicality and emotion, with the latter being something running back Rhamondre Stephenson wished he could’ve held back to some degree.

Stevenson was flagged after retaliating and making contact with Bills linebacker Matt Milano on the sideline in the third quarter of the game. Fortunately for Stevenson, both teams were flagged, and it was an offsetting penalty. With that said, Stevenson clearly regrets his actions on the field.

“That was a dumb decision by me ultimately… I was lucky it was offset. That could’ve been a big part of the game,” Stevenson said after the game, via NBC Sports’ Phil Perry.

Situations like these are exemplary of the emotions that occur when the stakes are high.

Unfortunately, the Patriots will now be picking up the pieces after a loss, rather than celebrating an AFC East division title. The Bills are not going down without a fight, and they proved that on Sunday.
