TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals have placed running back Bam Knight on injured reserve with the ankle injury he suffered during his team’s 40-20 loss to the Houston Texans last week.

Knight saw one carry for a loss of two yards before being carted off with the injury.

Helping fill in for the injured James Conner and Trey Benson, Knight started eight of 12 games played for Arizona this season.

Knight heads to IR pacing all Cardinals rushers in carries (82), rushing yards (269), touchdowns (four) and first downs (21).

With the running back sidelined, Michael Carter and Emari Demercado should see an uptick in touches the rest of the way.

Andre Baccellia joins Bam Knight on IR

Joining Knight on IR is wide receiver Andre Baccellia.

The only other healthy receiver on the 53-man roster outside of Michael Wilson heading into the weekend, Baccellia was carted off on Sunday with a neck injury.

He was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation but flew back with the team.

His season comes to an end with two catches for eight yards. Baccellia also averaged 26.2 yards per kick return on his way to 236 yards.

More roster moves for the Cardinals

In addition to the IR placements for Knight and Baccellia, the Cardinals have signed wide receiver Jalen Brooks to the active roster from the practice squad.

Across two games played this year, Brooks has caught three of six targets for 51 yards. He’s also taken back eight kick returns for 198 total yards.

Arizona also signed offensive lineman Marques Cox and safety Patrick McMorris to the practice squad and released offensive lineman Trey Wedig.
