Titans place three safeties on injured reserve, sign two to active roster

  • December 18, 2025

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans placed three defensive players on injured reserve Tuesday: safety Xavier Woods, safety Mike Brown and rookie safety Kevin Winston Jr.

All three players will miss at least four weeks, ending their seasons. The Titans have three games remaining at 2-12 and have been eliminated from playoff contention.

To address the depleted safety position, the Titans signed two players from practice squads. They added safeties Sanoussi Kane from Baltimore and Erick Hallett from Detroit.

Hallett previously played under interim head coach Mike McCoy in Jacksonville and is now reunited with him in Tennessee.

Both safeties will need to quickly learn the system with limited preparation time before Sunday’s game against Kansas City.

“Physicality, communication. I’m going to get everybody lined up the right way and just full-out effort,” Kane said. “Just trying to make sure we can make as many plays as we can as a defense and as a special teams unit.”

Hallett emphasized his approach to the opportunity.

“Honestly, just a consistent person. Consistency day in and day out. Whether it be my play or the person I show up to be in the facility,” Hallett said.

McCoy acknowledged the challenge of integrating new players on short notice.

“Now it’s just a matter of getting guys up to speed and figuring out what’s going to be the best combination,” McCoy said. “We obviously got a couple of days before we play, so it will be a crash course for the new guys.”

The Titans will face Kansas City at Nissan Stadium on Sunday.
