DL Justin Jones’ time with the Cardinals comes to a close after playing in only three games in two seasons.

The Arizona Cardinals made a quiet transaction, ending their relationship with one of their most disappointing free agent signings in recent history. The NFL transaction report showed the Cardinals waived defensive lineman Justin Jones from injured reserve.

Jones has not played this season, suffering a knee injury in training camp.

Jones has only played in three games since signing a three-year, $30 million contract in 2024.

He suffered a season-ending triceps injury last season in Week 3 and didn’t play again, so in two seasons, Jones played in three games, logging four tackles, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit and a tipped pass.

He had not missed a game in the two season prior to signing with Arizona.

He has no guaranteed salary left on his deal. He was paid $20.75 million over two years for three games.

His contract will carry a hit of $3.3 million in dead money in 2026.
