The Minnesota Vikings are looking to improve their record to 7-8 when they take on the 2-12 New York Giants, who are in contention for the first overall pick.

It doesn’t matter when it comes to the playoff standings, but it certainly does for NFL Draft position. There are a lot of players who are banged up for both sides, including the Vikings, who lost edge rusher Jonathan Greenard and safety Josh Metellus for the season this week.

Observations

Christian Darrisaw being on the list is a tough one, but he’s been injured all season long, missing multiple games for the Vikings. You can make an argument that he should be shut down for the season.

Gavin Bartholomew practiced for the first time since training camp opened, as he’s been on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Seeing him play at all would be good.

Javon Hargrave and Brian O’Neill both left Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Their status will be worth monitoring.

Observations

Three cornerbacks on the list is a concern for the Giants, especially Dru Phillips.

Kayvon Thibodeaux being out will limit the versatility for the Giants with their pass rush.
